About Ryu Shots

Hi, I’m Erza, a Japanese-American photographer and videographer based between Japan and the United States. I’m drawn to travel, quiet streets, meaningful conversations, and the small details that make people and places feel genuine.

Through Ryu Shots, I photograph portraits, interiors, and destinations with a clean, natural style. My goal is to create images that feel simple without feeling ordinary, preserving each subject with elegance, honesty, and intention.

I was born and raised in the small port town of Yokohama, Japan, moving between Japan and the United States for much of my life as a military brat. Those constant transitions taught me how important it is to appreciate the small, fleeting moments — the ones people often overlook but later wish they could hold onto. That understanding is what ultimately led me to photography.

Now based between North Florida and Tokyo, I approach every session with a focus on customer satisfaction and genuine storytelling. I want every person I work with to feel that their session is uniquely theirs — thoughtfully crafted, personal, and meaningful. My goal is to create a final gallery that feels like a perfectly curated album, one that reflects not only how the moment looked but how it truly felt.

When you work with me, I aim to capture the authenticity of each moment exactly as it was, while adding my own style to make the standout details pop even more. Whether it’s a quiet emotional exchange, a burst of laughter, a beautifully styled space, or a small gesture you didn’t notice in real time, I focus on preserving those key emotions in a way you can hold onto forever.

From portraits and real estate to events and brand storytelling, I blend cinematic visuals with a natural, intimate atmosphere — creating images that feel honest, intentional, and uniquely you.
